Dr. Nicole LeBlanc earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin in 2010, followed by a one-year rotating internship at North Carolina State University. She then completed a three-year cardiology residency at Oregon State University, where she received extensive training in interventional and medical cardiology. Dr. LeBlanc completed her residency and became board-certified in 2014. She accepted a tenure-track faculty position at Oregon State University from 2015 - 2021, during which time she was promoted to become a tenured professor.

During her professorship, Dr. LeBlanc focused her research efforts in interventional cardiac procedures for acquired and congenital heart disease, as well advanced echocardiography. Her peer-reviewed scientific articles can be found here.

Following her time at Oregon State University, Dr. LeBlanc was honored to help develop the interventional cardiology service in a multi-specialty private referral practice prior to moving to Bellingham in 2022 and starting North Sound Veterinary Cardiology in 2023. She is very excited to be able offer mobile cardiology services in northwest Washington, expanding access to primary care veterinarians and pet owners in our region. Additionally, Dr. LeBlanc continues to offer interventional cardiology services for select patients through an ongoing affiliation with a multi-specialty private referral practice in the South Sound region. In her spare time, Dr. LeBlanc enjoys outdoor adventures with her family in the Pacific Northwest including trail running, hiking, and mountain biking—often with her exuberant, smiling, Idaho Shag.
